Mistletoe Kisses & Christmas Wishes: An Interview with the authors!

Welcome to my author spotlight. I believe that publicity is cooperation not competition. After all, when you get done with a book, you need a new one. In that light, here is my interview with Tamara Ferguson and Allyson Abbott. I hope you will take the time to check them out along with the Blue Dragon's Geas Series. I am still in the process of the final story of the series. Allyson and Tamara have great reads for you in the meantime.

You’ve written a book together: Mistletoe Kisses & Christmas Wishes. Will you tell us a little about each of your stories?
Allyson: The Prickly Christmas Kiss is my contribution. It is a sweet, romantic comedy, which hopefully will make you laugh out loud. The story follows Elf on a ‘escape from the family Christmas’ trip that goes wrong. A light hearted tale of love with laughter.
Tamara: My story is Two Hearts’ Christmas Wishes, which is Book 4 in my Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series. Colonel Jason Matthews is a wounded warrior whose dreams have invaded by Kat Conlin, a girl he shared a kiss with years ago. When they unexpectedly meet again at Christmas, will their long ago wishes finally come true? When I wrote this novella, my primary goal was to leave my readers with a smile. Two Hearts’ Christmas Wish is all about second chances, and moving forward. Normally, my writing tends to be a little bit steamier than it is in this novella, but I wanted my first Christmas story to be upbeat and appealing for every age group, in keeping with the spirit of the season.

What makes each of your Christmas stories so different than all of the other Christmas stories that are available right now?
Allyson: It’s a fun, magical Christmas story and the main characters have very apt names like, Elf (nickname from her initials of Emma Louise Fallon), and Rudi, is the local cop. There is also a couple who look like Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and a cat who steals the limelight, named Santa’s Little Helper. It is different because it’s about the magic of Christmas and a cat that seems to know just what to do.
Tamara: One of the reasons I began writing was to create stories that had original plots and unexpected twists. And, so far, I think that I’m succeeding with this. Two Hearts’ Christmas Wish is a sweet Christmas romance that deals with second chances and moving forward after tragedy. What I want to convey most in my stories? Hope!
How did it come about that the two of you decided to write a book together?
Allyson: After becoming friends with Tamara, I was in awe of her knowledge and work ethic and hoped one day to work with her again. I am not sure how it all happened so quickly, but a few months later we were both busy writing our contributions to this book. It was a twinkle in my eye that became a full blazing head lamp within days.
Tamara: I’m still trying to figure that out. Allyson and I became friends while we were writing stories for Mother’s Day Magic, and we were talking about writing Christmas stories. All of a sudden, we were planning on putting out a book together, even talking about working on one single story. Since the details were a little difficult to work out so late in the year, we decided to each write a story of our own instead, with some commonalities with our stories. We’d each feature a cat, and we would target the new adult age group with our clean and wholesome romance.
Do you have any plans to work together in the future? Some authors find it difficult coordinating their promoting efforts when working with other authors.
Allyson: I love working with Tamara, she is so motivated and committed to doing well. I hope we do something again in the future. I keep throwing ideas her way, but Tamara does have a lot of planned projects in the next year. We found a good way to share the work load and I just agree with everything she says, haha Lol
Tamara: Am laughing after reading Allyson’s tactful answer, because of my sales background, I know I can be bossy! It’s much easier to delegate duties with only the two of us. I love working with Allyson. (Although, we do tend to chat an awful lot while we’re figuring out our what nexts, haha Lol)
Tell us a little about any new releases you each have coming up. Do you have any works in progress?
Allyson: I have just published an erotic book called Slaving over Christmas and hope to get the next book in the series, Slaving over Valentine, published soon. Apart from that I have too many pies and not enough fingers, so I need to put a realistic plan of action together.
Tamara: On December 15, Love In Times of War will be released, featuring 12 USA Today & Bestselling authors. From there comes my next story, A Kiss Upon A Star, for the Wedding Pets & Kisses Anthology, and Kissed by Fate, That Unexpected Kiss, as well as my latest Tales of the Dragonfly Novel, Emergence, which will hopefully be released in fall of 2017.
Thanks for having us here today
